Hayashi works within the wabi-sabi aesthetic, emphasizing the natural beauty of imperfection. His main styles are:Shino: Hayashi is renowned for his tea ceremony bowls (chawan), coated with a thick, milky-white feldspar glaze.
Nezumi Shino: A "mouse-gray" variety, where a layer of iron engobe is applied under a white glaze.
